Background
A group of experienced healthcare professionals wanted to establish an RTO to deliver aged care and disability support qualifications. Despite their industry expertise, they had no prior experience with VET sector compliance requirements.
The Challenge
Their first application was rejected for incomplete governance documentation and insufficient evidence of industry consultation. The second attempt failed due to assessment tool deficiencies and unclear trainer supervision arrangements.
After two rejections, the founders were frustrated and unsure whether registration was achievable. They needed expert guidance to understand exactly what ASQA required.
Our Approach
We conducted a detailed review of both rejection letters to identify every gap. The KickStart framework provided a structured pathway through all registration requirements, with templates specifically designed for initial registration.
Working closely with the founders, we rebuilt their governance framework from the ground up. Industry engagement was documented systematically, assessment tools were developed with clear mapping to training products, and trainer arrangements were clarified.
Before submission, we conducted a pre-lodgement review simulating the ASQA assessment process to identify any remaining gaps.
