    Background

This well-established construction RTO identified significant market demand for additional qualifications in civil construction and engineering. However, their internal compliance team was already stretched managing existing scope.

    The Challenge

Adding 12 qualifications simultaneously required substantial documentation: Training and Assessment Strategies, assessment tools, trainer appointments, and industry engagement for each qualification.

The RTO was concerned about maintaining their existing compliance standards while managing this expansion.

    Our Approach

We developed a phased approach, grouping qualifications by industry sector to maximise efficiency in TAS development and trainer arrangements.

The Compliance System provided structured templates for TAS and assessment tools, ensuring consistency across all new qualifications. Validation was conducted systematically as each qualification was prepared.

We worked alongside their compliance team rather than replacing them, building internal capability while delivering the project.

    Assessment Tools

    Week 6-12

    The Outcome

All 12 qualifications were added to scope in a single application. ASQA approved the scope extension without conditions.

The RTO now has a repeatable process for future scope additions and enhanced internal compliance capability.

"We couldn't have done this alone, not in this timeframe. The systematic approach meant nothing was missed, and our team learned a lot through the process."
